The Island of Vulcano has an active, smoldering volcano. Once you reach this island, the sulfurous stench is everywhere, though you will soon get used to it. I did not go up the crater because I am still small but I will surely go up soon, maybe on our next visit. In fact, hiking to the top is easy and from there the view is amazing. The hot mud baths are a must when you visit this island, any time of the year. After, you can just wash off the mud in the sea in front where the water, due to the volcano, is very warm throughout the year. The colors of this Island will surely make you fall in love with it.
